For the 15th consecutive year, Omaha will present the Outland Trophy to college football’s top interior lineman. This year the Outland Trophy Award Dinner is proud to announce a New Emcee, Greg Sharpe (the voice of the Huskers) and it will be held Thursday, January 12th at 7:00 pm at the Downtown DoubleTree Hotel, 16th & Dodge Streets. Tickets are $75.00 each and tables of ten sell for $750.00.

The Outland Trophy, which has been awarded annually by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) since 1946, is named after the late John Outland, a lineman at Pennsylvania at the turn of the century. This year's Outland Award winner will be announced in December on ESPN.

This prestigious football evening will also feature a former Outland Award Winner. This year the University of Minnesota, Bobby Bell, the 1962 Outland Award Winner. Downtown Rotary is sponsoring this Outland Trophy. From 1946 through 1989, the Outland winner was presented a plaque and not the authentic Outland Trophy.

Also appearing at the dinner for the 14th straight year will be the winners of Nebraska's football senior awards - the Novak Trophy, the Chamberlin Trophy and the Cletus Fischer Native Son.
